because i heard regular baking soda will ruin the glue on my permanent retainers do does that mean the bakingsoda in the arm and hammer toothpaste will ruin it if so what other whitening teeth remedies do you kno so i will not ruin my retainers.

How does the procedure work? and does it hurt? I have a appointment next week. Do the results last permanently?

My teeth are yellow. And I want to be white. I want to use something that works. It is not something that I always have a few months or so. Only one thing that I use only once. I have tried whitening toothpaste and mouthwash, but apparently not the only trick. HELP, I want something that does not please brush off when I brush my teeth and then. As for white teeth, I want something, knows that after use, brushin my teeth, keep my teeth.

I recently had 4 new ceramic (procera) crowns fitted on my front teeth. I wanted to go whiter than my natural shade of teeth and was told A2 would be ok , but I wanted to go lighter as A2 seemed to almost the same as my existing tooth colour, so we agreed on B1 with the option to change the shade before final fitting. The crowns came back unfinished so I could chose the shade so I opted for something inbetween A2 and B1 i. e. darker than B1 but lighter than A2. However, when the finished crowns came back later that day I didn’t check the shade again and they were fitted -they were just too white, they look brilliant white and I am told they are slightly lighter than B1! I am not happy with the look and think they look artificial, yes I did want to go lighter than my natural teeth but not totally brilliant white which is how I feel these front teeth look. They also told me to whiten my teeth AFTER the new crowns and not before so the whitening could be matched to the shade of the new crown, but as the new crown is so white I know there’s no way whitening would make my natural teeth so white. I went abroad for this to be done to save on costs but am really scared to smile as I feel they look artificial, what can I do? other than get them re-done again at full cost which I cannot afford to do again so soon.
I forgot to add that initially had gone for B1 with option of darkening shade later, but later on my 1st visit went back to see dentist and opted for A1 which I believe is less white than B1? Either way -the unfinished crowns when adjusted for shade were neither inbetween B1 and A1 or B1 and A2, they are very bright B1 or even whiter and I think t looks artificial, so would appreciate your views on what shade to go for again if I get them re-done or if any compromise can be made with the clinic where I had this done (which is in another EU country) Thanks

Cara – checked with the dental clinic concerned unfortunately they would not re-do them at just lab charges if a patient isn’t satisfied and would charge dentists time, which I assume would be the same as getting and paying for a new crown.
