Do the Benefits of Dental Implants Outweigh the Costs?

No Comments 06 November 2010

Often when it comes to selecting a restorative treatment many people base their decision on cost.   The cost of dental implants can range depending on whether upper or lower tooth implants are required and taking into consideration, the individual’s particular oral condition. In some cases you may have additional costs of a posterior mandible, bone regeneration, sinus elevation, and wide diameter or narrow diameter implants. Although dental implants may be a costly procedure they deliver a long lasting smile and will prove to be value for money. If oral health is maintained with regular maintenance dental implants can last a lifetime. Dental tooth implants duplicate your tooths structure. A Dental implants dentist replaces your missing teeth by placing the tooth implant on an artificial tooth root made of biocompatible materials, which are implanted into the jawbone using a painless and simple procedure.  This metal does well in the body and rarely causes any reaction in patients. It is the same material that is used in knee and hip replacements. Dental tooth implants are uniquely designed with small holes at the outside surfaces, like the roots of natural teeth. These holes cause the tooth implants to stimulate bone growth. Over time, the bone tissue actually grows into the small holes, securing the implant. There are a number of restorative options for the treatment of missing teeth, though none have proven to be as functional and highly effective as dental implants. Dental tooth implants will restore both the functionality and enhance the aesthetics of your smile. If the cost of dental implants are preventing you from having the procedure it is worth investigating the range of payment options dentist have or talking to your local dentist about the cost of teeth implants

Northridge dentist – Dental implants

No Comments 27 October 2010

Dental implants are a more natural looking replacement for missing teeth that work the same as one natural tooth did by being rooted to the jaw. They have also been used to anchor types of restorations for better success. Thousand Oaks dental implants consists of a titanium post that acts as the root structure of a natural tooth, so it is placed into the desired area lower or upper jaw bone. Titanium stimulates bone growth, so the bone then grows around the titanium making it useable to hold a crown, bridge, or over denture. Dental implants are known to be the most permanent teeth restorative method because they can last a life time and would be taken care of just the same as natural teeth. Dental implants can be used to replace one tooth, several and even all of the teeth. Many people with missing teeth decide to go with dentures, as they are less costly and have been around for a very long time. Although many people go with this right leading Northridge dentist say many people are very unhappy with their choice for dentures. Bottom dentures never fit or feel like natural teeth, they become loose due to shrinking gum disease which then causes irritation of the mouth, sores and pain. Bottom dentures often times also restrict one’s ability to eat or talk. Other people are happy with their choice for upper dentures as they do fit a little better and because of the suction to the upper plate helps keep the denture in place; however, because the top plate is covered one may not be able to taste food as well as they did before. Sores and pain when chewing and talking are quite frequent as well. Dental implants do not cause any of this pain and there won’t be any problem with fit since they are fused to the jaw, they are secure and comfortable. Dental implant candidates are individuals who have lost one or more teeth to periodontal disease or injury. Candidates for Woodland Hills dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. One of the most valuable assets of dental implants is that they do no damage to the surrounding teeth. Other tooth restorative methods such as bridges rely on other teeth to stay up eventually damaging the other teeth it is clinging on to. Encino teeth implants are often the solution for those with missing teeth, and they are often desired by many; however there are some individuals that are often not good candidates for dental implants. Smokers and those with uncontrolled chronic diseases of systemic problems may not be good candidates for this procedure. Smoking also hinders the healing process. Individuals with uncontrolled diabetes are also less likely to be candidate because healing problems with the gums and tissue can arise.
