Will bleaching work on a tooth with a dead nerve?

1 Comment 18 August 2010

All of my teeth are a lot duller than I would like them but one of my front teeth is noticeably more yellow than the rest because the nerve is dead (know this from a dental x-ray years ago). I was thinking I would like to get them all whitened (bleached), but would this work on the dead one? If not, would it be better to get the veneer after I get the rest whitened?

I had a partial root canal years ago and my tooth is slightly darker than the rest. Will zoom whitening or any other procedure (at a reasonable cost) help?

Is there anything that can whiten teeth that are dead?

When my husband was a boy he fell and chipped his two front teeth. His parents opted to have root canals done versus having the teeth pulled. They are dark and discolored.

I appear to have a dead tooth yet my dentist did nothing about it?

1 Comment 13 March 2010

I went to the dentist recently as I had a small hole in one of my front teeth at the gumline and he gave me a filling, as well as a small filling in a back tooth for a tiny hole i’ve had for over 10 years (i’m 27 now) but he thought whilst he was doing the front one he may as well do that one too.

Before I went I had noticed that one of my wisdom teeth at the very top back looked a bit funny at the side as if it was decayed but it was very hard to tell due to how far back it is. . . even with a little dental mirror it was hard to see.
Whilst I was at the dentist he x-rayed both sides of my mouth and after the fillings said that the x rays were fine.
This was about 6/7 weeks ago. .
Now ive just looked at that tooth again and it just looks WEIRD. . and it feels weird too, as if 1/3rd of the tooth has chipped off, but I get no pain or discomfort from it. . .

Now I don’t know if this is a dead tooth that is just crumbling to pieces in the back of my mouth or if it’s just a really bizarre shape due to it being a wisdom tooth but my dentist never mentioned it at all. . . and he even x-rayed my mouth. . surely if there was a dead/badly decayed tooth in my mouth he would have wanted to whip it out/root canal it/ at least MENTION it?? I’m really freaking out about it now.

Also some of my front teeth look kinda stained at the gumline and I don’t understand why that didnt get polished away. . .

I feel absolutely gutted because I used to have perfectly shaped white teeth with no fillings and now I just feel like my teeth are in an absolute state compared to before :(

It looks like my enamels gone really thin also when I shine a light through them. . . is there any way I can make my teeth stronger, whiter and healthier again??

Thanks
Forgot to mention that these were my first fillings. . . all of a sudden my teeth seem to have gone from perfectly healthy to less so :(

How can I look drop dead gorgeous for next school year?!?

14 Comments 13 March 2010

I’m fourteen and next year I’ll be in ninth grade. Over the summer I really want to change my look so that I will feel prettier and more confident with myself next school year. My self-esteem is really low, but I want to change that, which is why I’m changing my look and such over summer vacation.
Right now this is how I look: light brown slightly wavy-ish hair, my hair is shoulder length with side bangs, i have light skin, hazel eyes (they appear to change colors), straight teeth, average lips, no acne (but occasionally i get one or two zits), a few freckles (but they are VERY unnoticeable, you have to be like two inches away from my face to even see them lol), i hardly ever wear make up, and i am 5′ 2” and 110 pounds.
I want a natural tan, complimenting make up, a nicer figure, whiter teeth, a better hairstyle, etc. How can I lose weight over the summer? What make up would look good on me? How can I get a natural tan? What’s the best way to whiten teeth? Why haircut should I get?
What else do I need to do to improve my looks? I really am doing this so that I can simply feel really good about myself and be happy with the way I look! But I need your help and suggestions! Thanks in advance! I deeply appreciate your answers!
Oh, and what are some cute styles of bangs? I want some that cover my whole forehead but don’t look “emo” or something like that. Please post pics of cute hairstyles/bangs. I want my hair to be a little shorter than it is with bangs, so yeah. . . . .
Again, thank you so much!!!

Drop Dead Good Looks With Beautiful Teeth Whitening

No Comments 12 March 2010

With more people becoming focused on improving their appearance, many are choosing teeth whitening. The natural color of teeth changes as we age. Stains from food, tobacco and liquids that we drink cause dark discolorations. Fortunately the process is no longer something that has to be done just in a dentist office, or only at very high cost. A little internet research can be performed to find the best choice for your needs.
Improvements in technology as well as scientific knowledge about stains have changed the way we take care of our teeth. Instead of selling toothpaste just too basically clean the mouth, many whitening options are also available. When researching toothpaste you will be able to pay a few dollars to try different brands.
Natural remedies can be purchased as well. With the recent focus that companies have of taking the earths atmosphere into consideration, many natural remedies are coming out. Some companies have been around for years producing products with very simple ingredients. When you read the labels you will be able to pronounce everything that is in the product!
As an alternative to store bought toothpaste, homemade remedies can also be done. There are books that have recipes, as well as online sites. Most recipes for homemade toothpaste will include basic ingredients that you have in your kitchen. You may find your self surprised at how easy, and inexpensive, it can be.
Laser teeth whitening is an option as well. The process can be done in as little as one visit to a dentist’s office. It may take an hour or two and possibly a home follow up, but then you will be finished.
Bleaching is another professional option available. A replica of your teeth is made. Next a solution that you can use at home is prepared. This will require a few trips to the dentist office, and then you will be finished.
There are a variety of store bought whiteners available as well. One has a tray that you fill with gel and place on your teeth for a certain amount of time. Other options are strips that adhere to your teeth and they dissolve. Yet another option is strips that you place on your teeth and then take off and throw away. These are some of the top common methods. They lighten your teeth gradually so you will need to repeat the process over a length of time.
Whichever method of teeth whitening that you choose, you will be pleased with the results. Your teeth will feel cleaner, even healthier. When you feel better about yourself, your attitude usually changes. Whiter, brighter teeth will give you more self confidence and maybe even that job promotion you have been waiting for.
