Teeth Whitening Systems-Find Out About Teeth Whitening Systems That Work!

No Comments 26 January 2012

Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures being done today, and it is very big with show business personalities and people from the modelling industry.   They all bank on their appearances and therefore want the best-looking smile for the cameras, TV, and movies.   What better way to have the same bright, white smile than to employ a teeth whitening system of your own.   Now, you can actually purchase teeth whitening systems that are completely do-it-yourself, and can be done in the comfort of your own home. Teeth Whitening Gels These teeth whitening systems are used by applying the bleaching gel ingredient onto your teeth and as quick as a few hours, you’ll see noticeably whiter teeth, and you can go from three to six shades lighter than your original tooth color.   A color guide usually comes along with the package to monitor your progress using the teeth whitening gel. Teeth Whitening Trays Teeth whitening trays are much like the trays used to get the exact shape of your teeth.   You just need to put the bleaching ingredients onto the tray and fit the tray onto your teeth for a few minutes.   After doing so, remove the tray to find that your teeth have been transformed immediately.   This teeth whitening system also comes in the form of a syringe applicator which can be administered onto the teeth and just a few hours after, your teeth will become whiter and brighter than what they used to be. Teeth Whitening Strips Teeth whitening strips are very much convenient and easier to use since they already hold enough bleaching ingredients which can be applied onto the teeth, and just like pore strips, can be stripped off after a few minutes.   Eventually, teeth become visibly whiter, and more attractive.   A popular brand of teeth whitening strips, Crest Professional Teeth Whitening Strips, has received numerous awards for being the best in over-the-counter, home teeth whitening products available in the market today. A lot of other teeth whitening products can be used to whiten teeth, and most of them guarantee results in just a few days.   Depending on your teeth’s condition, it is better to purchase a teeth whitening system that suits your needs, and make sure to consult a dentist as well before trying anything out. http://www. whiteningnowreview. com

Answer by christie
I would be careful your teeth can become sensitive after any home whitening. My husband tried the over the counter stuff and it made his teeth sensitive to the air he breathed in. I would just go to to dentist. Its better than risking you teeth that aren’t replaceble.

Teeth Whitening Product – 10 Things You Absolutely Must Know About Teeth Whitening

1. There is a teeth whitening method out there that will work for you
Are you worried about stained or discolored teeth every time you smile? There is some good news. No matter your budget or your busy work schedule you should be able to find a teeth whitening option that is a fit for you. From affordable convenient whitening strips to expensive dental whitening treatments there is something out there for everyone. With just a small amount of research you should be able to find a method that fits your budget and lifestyle. Take the time. . . you will be glad you did.
2. Teeth whitening is worth the trouble
When you are confident that you have nice white teeth it will show through in your smile and make you appear confident and self-assured. Whiter teeth also make you look younger and minimize the appearance of facial wrinkles. A 1998 study by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry found that 85% of adults believe that an unattractive smile makes a person less appealing to the opposite sex. Teeth whitening goes a long way towards making sure that your not one of those people with an unattractive smile.
3. Teeth whitening is safe
The common methods of peroxide-based teeth whitening cannot damage your teeth. Some people may experience temporary side effects such as sensitive teeth or gum irritation. In most cases gum irritation isn’t even related to the whitening formula but instead is caused by a tray that doesn’t fit the mouth properly. What’s the bottom line? Teeth whitening is perfectly safe. In fact the American Dental Association even has an official statement recognizing its safety and effectiveness.
4. You can minimize the side effects
As mentioned above some people experience minor side effects from the tooth whitening process. If you experience tooth sensitivity simply give it a break for a few days then start the treatments up again. If sensitivity persists switch to a toothpaste that is made for sensitive teeth. These toothpastes contain ingredients that can help to soothe the nerve endings of your teeth. If the treatment involves a tray wear it for shorter periods of time. It may take longer this way but you will end up with the same results.
5. You can get dental quality results at home
This may surprise you but whether you use an at-home teeth whitening kit or go to the dentist you will generally end up with the same results. So why do people pay so much more to have their teeth professionally whitened by a dentist? Mostly because of the dramatic results they can see right away. At-home kits usually take a couple of weeks to get the results of one or two dental visits. The up-side for the kits is that they are much cheaper than a professional whitening done by the dentist.
6. Whitening doesn’t last forever
Generally a teeth whitening will last for 6 months to a year. Of course this depends on the individual and the method of whitening that was used. For instance an expensive dental office whitening will last longer than a cheaper method such as whitening strips. Many people feel that whitening kits with a custom mouth tray are the most cost effective way to keep teeth white because once you have the tray made you can simply purchase more gel at any time.
7. Whitening toothpastes have a misleading name
‘Whitening’ toothpastes in most cases do not contain peroxide which is the active ingredient for effective teeth whitening. Instead they use mild abrasives and polishing agents to clean your teeth and help remove surface stains. Extra clean teeth can appear brighter but whitening toothpastes will rarely whiten your teeth by more than a shade.
8. Watch out for the foods that stain
Heavily pigmented foods such as soy sauce most varieties of berries and cherries will stain teeth. Drinks such as coffee colas and other dark soft drinks teas and cranberry juice can also cause staining.
You can do a few things to keep these foods from staining your teeth such as brushing your teeth as soon as possible after eating staining foods. Don’t forget to use a straw for drinks that stain. The straw will keep the staining liquid from getting on the front teeth.
9. Brushing your teeth hard and often will not make your teeth whiter
Actually the opposite is true. Brushing too hard or using a hard bristled toothbrush can actually brush away the enamel of your teeth over time. The thinner your enamel gets the more the second layer of the tooth shows through. Unfortunately the second layer called the dentin layer is a yellow or brownish color. Yellow showing through on your teeth is certainly not the desired result. So if you want to keep your enamel brush gently and with a soft bristled brush.
10. Watch out for dangerous ‘natural tooth whiteners’
There is a lot of bad information out there about teeth whitening. For instance some people say that brushing your teeth with lemon juice or rubbing lemon peel across your front teeth is a great way to whiten your teeth. It may whiten your teeth but it is also eats away the calcium in your teeth which weakens the teeth and makes them much more prone to decay. Keep an eye out for these home remedies most of them will do more harm than good.

FAQs about Tooth Whitening

No Comments 14 October 2010

Tooth whitening has gained quite a bit of exposure from devotees of cosmetic dentistry. This simple procedure can brighten your smile and seemingly erase years from your appearance. It’s also a beneficial treatment for patients whose teeth have been permanently stained by certain medications and who are embarrassed to smile.
Before contacting your dentist to set your appointment, read these frequently asked questions.   They will help you determine if this is the right cosmetic procedure for your needs.
1. How Does Laser Teeth Whitening Work?
Concerning laser teeth whitening, London residents should know that it is a process by which the surface of your teeth can be brightened visibly with a bleaching agent. Specially-fitted trays containing the agent are attached to the teeth, and a laser light is used to accelerate the whitening process. This procedure can whiten yellowed teeth, a condition that is caused by aging and aggravated by certain foods, drinks, medications, and smoking.
2. How Long Does a Session Last?
Typically, a whitening session will last 30 minutes to an hour, but the length of your session will depend on the condition of your teeth. During your professional teeth whitening, London dentists can assess if you will need just one treatment to get the results you desire, or if you may require several treatments to get your desired smile makeover.
3. Is Teeth Whitening Painful? What Are the Side Effects?
Because the bleaching trays are fitted carefully to your teeth, you should not experience any discomfort during your laser whitening session. Irritated gums and tooth sensitivity are the most commonly reported side effects for patients who use the at-home whitening kits. If you are having a professional treatment, side effects are quite rare, as the bleaching agent is gentler and is kept away from your gums during the procedure.
4. What is the Average Cost for Teeth Whitening?
The total cost for the procedure will vary depending upon the severity of the discolouration, and how many treatments you will require to restore the brightness of your smile. Professional treatments do cost more than at-home kits, but they can deliver results that are more precise and last longer. On average, you can expect the results to last 3 years, if you avoid food and beverages that stain and tobacco.
5. What Makes Me a Good Candidate for Tooth Bleaching?
Before undergoing teeth whitening, central London dentists can assess whether or not you are a good candidate for the procedure. Bleaching can work well on patients who have a yellow discoloration on their teeth due to staining from foods, beverages, and tobacco. Staining from medications, such as tetracycline, can be treated with laser tooth whitening but may need more than one cycle of treatment to create the desired results.
Patients with a history of chronic illness, such as diabetes, should consult with a dentist before attempting any tooth whitening procedure. Pregnant or nursing women, patients with hydrogen peroxide sensitivity, and patients with sensitive teeth or gums should not try a tooth whitening session.

How do I go about whitening teeth naturally?

2 Comments 07 October 2010

I’m a mother of 2, stay at home mom. I’ve been reading about whitening teeth naturally and would like to try it. I do not want to go into a doctors office or get some sort of extensive work done. I’ve drank coffee for 20 years and I used to smoke when I was in my 20′s. Does anyone know anything about whitening teeth naturally? Can you recommend a product that actually works? I don’t want to have to try something that doesn’t work and return it. I’m looking for the real deal and I would like some suggestions from someone that has actually used it before. Thank you.
